Max’s Chiropractic Story
Ever since Max was an infant, motion sickness (particularly car sickness) has been a huge
burden for our family. With many of our friends and family
living over an hour away, traveling with 3 or 4 changes of clothes, plastic baggies and tons of wet wipes
became second nature. Eventually, Max’s car sickness became a
huge deterrent to us traveling just about anywhere. Not to
mention the poor little guy would just be miserable for the car ride and up to an hour or two
after.
Right around when Max turned about one, we noticed that he
constantly had watery eyes. They would be goopy and yucky and we
noticed that they weren’t improving. We took him to a doctor in our
town (we live in such a small town, we don’t even have a pediatrician) and she diagnosed him with
conjunctivitis. The medicine that we gave him helped a little
momentarily, but only a few weeks later, the watery eyes came back.
And stayed for about 5 months.
We realized that Max had allergies. Not wanting
to give him medicine, we just dealt with the watery eyes and stuffy nose and hoped he would out grow
it. Well, the allergies came and went with the seasons, but they
never went away for good.
I took both of my boys to see Dr. Nancy about one time every six weeks. But when I started noticing that Max’s allergies were getting pretty bad, I
decided to bite the bullet and make the 1 ½ hour round-trip to take my boys once a week. Am I ever glad that I did!
I am thrilled to report that we have been on 4 different
road trips now, and Max did not get sick on any of them. One was a
trip to Monticello, which is a trip he has never gone on in his life without getting sick in the
car. For about 4 straight weeks, he has only had 1 day when his
eyes were watery. They haven’t been bothering him at all and he
hasn’t been sniffling or rubbing his nose. And his mood has been
NOTICEABLY more pleasant!
Going to see Dr. Nancy is the highlight of the week for my boys. Her gentle and loving nature with children is so natural that they bonded
right away. They adore her, and my family is so thankful that we
have been able to benefit from Chiropractic and from one of the best DC’s out there…Dr. Nancy
Elwartowski.
